Community Health and Wellness

Community Health and Wellness

Health disparities are still present within African American communities: African Americans are 8.6 times more likely to be diagnosed with HIV infection, as compared to the Non-Hispanic White population and are living below poverty at a rate of 28.1 percent compared to 11.0 percent of non-Hispanic Whites according to the 2012 U.S Census bureau.

Program Objectives

Ensure individuals know their HIV status

Provide at-risk partners with HIV testing and STI screening and health care options

Provide linkage to care

HIV Counseling, HIV Testing, Sexually Transmitted Infections, and Hepatitis C

If you qualify, we offer free rapid HIV testing and free Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and HCV screenings. The HIV and HCV rapid test takes 15-20 minutes to process. STI laboratory results take 3 days. Our trained Community Health Worker will test or screen you, provide prevention counseling, and ensure you receive information, including educational and safer sex materials. Plus, you can be referred to other social and medical services. For clients that do not qualify for free testing, there will be an affordable cost for testing services for yourself or your partner. You can get tested today. For Current resting hours, click here to see our appointment calendar
